New week, new adventures in Lagos!
Toasties is a place I’ve always wanted to try ever since I first discovered them via Eat Drink Lagos a couple of years ago (2 I think). It first started off as a blog that became a small sandwich shop that was located at the old Nakenoh’s Blvd. I’ve visited them at that location but I got tacos that day (I was really craving them). I finally got the chance to try them out at the 2018 GTBank Food And Drink Fair and I got their shaki toastie. I loved it.
Fast forward a few months later, they have now turned into a fast casual restaurant with two locations in Lagos. Who ever owns this business is very serious about business and expansion.
I visited Toasties on a Monday morning. I went to the Ikoyi branch which is next to a First Bank on Awolowo Road. It was empty (it was early in the morning) but people were at the counter ordering food to go so they had customers.
I decided to build my own Toastie – something they have been promoting on their IG page for some time. You can basically build your own sandwich and I was delighted. I got a toastie with BBQ chicken, bacon, chilli sauce and gouda cheese. You can go as hard as you like and pile on whatever your heart desires.
Packaging – I love it. It’s so well done.
Now on to my sandwich:
I liked it – a lot. It’s food you eat when you want a really nice snack. It’s like a bougie sandwich that a fancy chef makes for you. It won’t fill you up like a whole meal would but it’s very tasty. I’m slowly becoming addicted and I’m already thinking when I’ll go get another one.
When I wasn’t feeling well yesterday (Monday), Tunde picked up a similar Toastie for me but this one had caramelized onions and goat cheese. I loved this combo much better but Tunde complained that the sandwich kept falling apart. While I did notice that pieces of chicken kept falling out, I didn’t really mind because I don’t mind messy food.
Would I recommend you go to Taosties – YES. The sandwiches are really tasty and I’m a huge fan of being able to build your own Toastie. Apart from sandwiches, they also have salads, fries and different food specials on different days (Tacos for Tuesday, Wings for Wednesday and Baos for Thursday). I’ve had the tacos before but I’m not a huge fan. Maybe it’s because I got guac that day. I’ll try the tacos again without guac and let you guys know how I feel
Address – 113 Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi & 43C Akin Adesola, Victoria Island

Check out my other Adventures in Lagos posts HERE. I go to places, take photos and share my feelings about the space. Sort of like a mini review of the place/event I attended.
