Brought to you by Travelstart

It’s summertime! Well, it doesn’t feel like that in Lagos as we are currently in the middle of rainy season but for most of the world, it’s summertime. The sun is shining, school is out, your boss finally decided to approve your leave and it’s time to rest and rejuvenate.

But where?

You don’t want to stay in Lagos because as I said earlier, it’s raining everyday. You’ve been to all the tourism hotspots around you such as Olumo Rock, Erin Ijesha waterfall, Idanre Hills, and Ikogosi Warm Springs. You want to travel, you’re on a budget but you don’t know where to go.

Don’t fret!

In partnership with Travelstart (who are having an amazing summer sale right now), I am here to tell you that you don’t have to break the bank to have a good holiday. We are bringing you the cheapest summer holiday destinations (with cheap flights)that you can book right now.

1. London, United Kingdom

There is so much to do in London, especially during the summer holidays. You can hop on a tour bus and take in the sights and sounds while learning about the history of the city. If you’re looking for a view like no other, the London Eye is where you need to be. If you’re a shopper (like me), you can get all the latest fashion and beauty from Selfridges and Harrods. You can get a cheap flight from Lagos to London starting from N199,999.

2. Dubai, UAE

Fun fact – I used to live in Saudi Arabia and always dreamed of visiting Dubai because we heard so much about it. Dubai is known for luxury shopping (they have a huge shopping festival every year), ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. It is also home to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the entire world. I imagine the view would be incredible. Get yourself a flight from Lagos to Dubai starting from just N179,699.

3Johannesburg, South Africa

You don’t have to travel out of Africa to have a good vacation. Johannesburg is home to a wide variety of activities so everyone has something they can do. If you’re interested in history, the Apartheid Museum will teach you all that you want to know. If you want an adventure, the numerous safaris and parks are there for you. And if you’re into shopping (like me, again), the Sunday markets and shopping malls will be your best friend.

Have you caught the travel bug yet? I have and I am dreaming of catching flights and not catching feelings (get it?). Remember it’s not where you go that matters but the memories you make. If you do travel, tag me on the photos. I’m looking for all the travel inspo I can get!
