Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016 starts tomorrow and I am very excited! This is my third year covering fashion week and it’s been amazing watching the designers grow, flourish and present their new collections. I have a feeling that this year is going to be very interesting in terms of fashion.

OmogeMuRa promises not to leave you hanging as we plan on reporting the best in fashion and beauty happening at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016. Let’s just get you brushed up on some things you may not know about LFDW this year.

Here is everything you need to know about Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016.

When and where is it happening?

It is happening at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos and runway shows start at 5:30 pm daily.

How do I get tickets?

You can buy early bird tickets on the Jumia website (tickets for the first day are N3,500, the rest are N4,500) but if you buy tickets at the ticket desk, the tickets will be N5,000. Also, they are only selling regular tickets this year. VIP tickets are for sponsors and other people.

How do I get a press pass?

If you haven’t gotten a press email by now, you’re too late. Application for press closed a few weeks ago and they have already approved the press they want at the show. Sorry 🙁

I want to go shopping!

Some designers are employing the ‘See Now, Buy Now’ strategy. In other words, if you see something you like on the runway, you can buy it the next day at the LFDWxRetail space. Some designers who aren’t even doing a runway show will be having stands and stalls in the retail space. LFDWxRetail starts from the 27th – 29h of Oct so go shop your heart out!

I want to learn about the industry and the economics behind fashion.

You’re in luck!  There are going to be TWO business and economic talks at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016.

Africa Development Bank and LFDW will be having a talk on the 28th called ‘Fashionomics’ which I assume will focus on the economics of fashion.

And we have the Fashion Business Series happening on the 27th with a range of different topics. This one is my favorite one for obvious reasons.

And that’s everything you need to know! Will you be attending Fashion Week this year? Have you attended before? What was your experience like? Let me know in the comment section below!

Stay fab!
