Hi everyone and welcome to today’s post. I’ll be sharing my thoughts and feelings about the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave in Conditioner. I’ve used this product for about 3 weeks/wash days so I think I have used it enough to have a good review about it.
I don’t know if Shea Moisture has stopped selling this product but it’s NO WHERE on their website. They have the rest of the Black Castor oil line but the leave-in conditioner is no where to be found.
I typed out the product description from the container because I love you guys 🙂
“This reparative leave-in conditioner softens and detangles hair while controlling fizz. Perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Formulated with Jamaican Black Castor oil and certified organic Shea Butter to nourish, moisturize and support elasticity so hair resists breakage when detangling. Conditioners provide a protective layer that improves the appearance of split ends. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience.”
I use this conditioner after I finishing washing out my deep conditioner and before I apply my twist gel/cream. I love how it keeps my hair soft, manageable and tangle free. I’m very scary of products with castor oil (my skin reacts badly to it) so when I use this, I’m very careful not to apply it on my edges so that I don’t break out.
The formula is light but thick. Smells very nice and absorbs into the hair instantly.
Here are my recent twists (I did these twists on Monday and I took this photo this Wednesday morning). I use a little bit of the leave – in before I go out and I love how it brings my hair back to life.
VERDICT: If you’re looking for a new leave-in, I suggest you get this one. You will not be disappointed.
WHERE TO BUY: You can purchase this and other Shea Moisture products at Perfect Trust Cosmetics store in Lagos and Abuja. In Lagos, they have a store at the Silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island. The Abuja store is at ASG Shopping Complex, Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2, beside Chicken House, opposite ASCON filling station.
