I was approached by the lovely ladies over at Taries Beauty Lounge to review a foundation that is part of a makeup brand they currently franchise in Nigeria and I said yes. I love sharing my thoughts and ideas about makeup and reviews are the perfect way to do that.
The foundation I reviewed is the StudioMakeup Perfecting Finish Foundation. It’s a water-based foundation that contains no oil and it ‘stays matte all day’. I put it to the test and took images of me wearing the foundation all day long.
Below is my review. Enjoy!
The StudioMakeup website doesn’t show the darker shades and I got one that was so light before I went and got it switched for my shade. I got matched and the name of my shade is ‘bisque’.
It’s water-based so it’s a bit runny and you have to shake it before it use or else you will just get water coming out of the pump.
My face before the foundation. I have done my eyebrows here
My face with the foundation applied. I used a Real Techniques stippling brush to buff it into my skin. It evened out my skintone and covered up most of the darkness under my eyes and near my mouth.
Full face of makeup for work. I used Sleek Translucent Powder to set the foundation. It set nicely. Lipstick is called Potion and it’s a liquid lipstick by Anastasia Beverly Hills
A few hours later at work ….
Foundation has oxidised and set nicely into my skin. No shine on my forehead or nose!
After work selfie. Makeup is still matte with no shine or melting. I was very impressed.
This foundation is worth it. It’s perfect as an everyday foundation to wear to work. It isn’t heavy and it sets naturally. It does have the tendency to be cakey so apply in bits so you don’t over do it.
You can buy this foundation and Studiomakeup Products at Taries Beauty Lounge online or at their studio atNo.5, Olufunmilola Okikiolu Street, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
