Hey hey hey!
It’s Tuesday and it’s time for another beauty review. If you’re new to OmogeMuRa, every Tuesday I review beauty, skincare or hair products. Today’s review is of the Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Mattifying Gel Cream. I received it when I attended the Yves Rocher store launch earlier this year (see all the photos from the event HERE).
According to the brand website, “the Zero Blemish Gel Cream, absorbs excess sebum and minimizes pores. Enriched with Baikal Powder, recognized for its rebalancing virtues, this gel cream smoothes imperfections and hydrates combination or oily skin for a full 24 hours.”
The Yves Rocher Sabo Vegetal range is for oily and combination skin and the range consists of a face wash, a scrub, a mask, and a cleansing gel.
What interests me the most about this product is the Baikal powder it contains. Baikal powder comes from the Baikal skullcap (scientific name Scutellaria baicalensis) and the root is used to make all types of medicine. With skin, Baikal powder rebalances the skin and absorbs excess sebum (the oil your skin makes).
The cream has a light texture and isn’t heavy on the skin the way other creams can be. It absorbs quickly and literally soaks up the oil on my skin. It has no scent and leaves no residue or marks on my face.
VERDICT: I love the way this product is on my skin. I use it before I put on my makeup and I have noticed I’m less oiler and my makeup slips around less. I have also noticed my face is smoother and less oiler. I guess that’s the Baikal powder working and rebalancing my skin and the sebum levels. It’s smooth, absorbs nicely into my skin and makes me matte and happy
